Une conférence intitulée « Rise from the dead chemicals affect heterotrophic processes » aura lieu le vendredi 24 novembre à 11h30 en ligne. Elle sera animée en anglais par Mirco Bundschuh, Junior-Professor, SETAC Europe Past President, Functional Aquatic Ecotoxicology, Institute for Environmental Sciences, University of Koblenz LandauLemes De Oliveira.
The breakdown of dead organic material, such as plant litter, is a central process for carbon, nutrient and energy spiralling in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems In aquatic ecosystems organic matter breakdown is driven by substrate properties, aquatic microorganisms (mainly bacteria and fungi) and invertebrate detritivores (including cryptic lineages)
Increasing evidence suggests that chemical stressors can affect this process in multiple ways, for instance, by modifying the feedbacks within the leaf associated microbial community ultimately translating to changes in leaf litter decomposition but also the transfer of energy to higher trophic levels
